Chandra Asri Group ESG Rating Improvement

Chandra Asri Group announced a significant improvement in its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance assessment by reputable organizations MSCI and Morningstar Sustainalytics. Chandra Asri Group's MSCI ESG score increased from 5.4 to 5.7, which strengthens our position in the BBB rating and is one step closer to a higher rating. Chandra Asri Group's ESG Risk Rating from Morningstar Sustainalytics also showed improvement with a decrease in risk from 16.6 to 16.3, where a lower score indicates better ESG performance. This result also maintains Chandra Asri Group in the category of Top Rated ESG Companies globally in the chemical commodity industry.

Chandra Asri Group's Head of ESG & Sustanability, Andang Pungkase said, “We are proud to be able to maintain and improve our sustainability performance, as evidenced by the improved ESG Ratings from both MSCI and Sustainalytics. This ESG rating improvement is a result of Chandra Asri Group's continuous efforts in proactively managing environmental and social impacts and implementing transparent and accountable governance. Through this ESG rating achievement, we also see greater opportunities to gain access to various sustainable financing, including Sustainability-Linked Loans (SLL), and expand our contribution to the circular economy agenda and the achievement of national climate targets.”

In addition to the ESG achievements, Chandra Asri also maintained its International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) certification for the second consecutive year.  This certification recognizes our facilities for meeting global standards for producing environmentally friendly products from bio-feedstock, including Bio-Propylene, Bio-Ethylene, Bio-Crude C4, and Bio-Pygas. This ISCC certification opens the door in Chandra Asri Group's transition efforts towards more sustainable alternative feedstock utilization.
