RDF Cofiring: Energy Transitions and Waste Management Efforts by Chandra Asri Group

Chandra Asri Group is strengthening the use of new renewable energy by converting waste into energy sources through RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) Cofiring. The RDF Cofiring has been implemented in the coal boiler of Chandra Asri Group’s site office in Puloampel. RDF is used as an alternative fuel, accounting for 5% of the total energy needs of the boiler, with a utilization volume reaching 60.33 tons of waste.

Carried out in July 2025, the RDF Cofiring has been successfully implemented on a commercial scale and has shown positive environmental impact. It is estimated to reduce carbon equivalent emissions by 29.63 tons of CO2. This initiative aligns with the company's commitment to supporting renewable energy contribution and strengthens sustainable waste management in its operations.
