PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group) has a Biodiversity Protection Policy as part of its commitment to the conservation and management of environmental resources. As a realistic step into this commitment, the company actively contributes to coral dissemination and transplantation efforts in Pulo Panjang Village, Pulo Ampel District, Serang Regency. This initiative was attended by representatives from the Pulo Panjang Village Government, Serang Fisheries and Marine Department, Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs (LPSPL-Serang), Politeknik Ahli Usaha Perikanan (AUP), the Underwater Community Nature Foundation (KABL), as well as community representatives from Pulo Panjang Village and several local fishermen.
The coral species transplanted include Acropora grandis and Acropora pulchra, categorized as Endangered, as well as Acropora palmata, classified as Critically Endangered according to the IUCN Red List. The transplantation was carried out with Fish Apartments as the medium in structures made from PVC inner rolls, which are classified as non-hazardous and non-toxic waste. In addition, this media can support the increase of fish resources which can increase fish catches and become a booster of the local economy. Through this dedicated initiative program, Chandra Asri Group actively contributes to the preservation of endangered species and reinforces its commitment to biodiversity conservation.
