Chandra Asri Group, Danantara Indonesia, and the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) officially signed a Conditional Share Subscription Agreement (CSSA) to support the Chlor Alkali–Ethylene Dichloride (CA-EDC) project, which is part of the National Strategic Projects (PSN). With an investment value of approximately USD 800 million, this project is a strategic step in reducing dependence on imports of caustic soda and ethylene dichloride (EDC), which are essential raw materials for various industrial sectors, and supports the downstreaming agenda to drive Indonesia's long-term economic transformation.

This facility will be managed by PT Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA), a subsidiary of the Chandra Asri Group, with a target operational start date of early 2027. President Director and CEO of Chandra Asri Group, Erwin Ciputra, stated that the support of this strategic partner reflects their confidence in the Company's capabilities in strengthening the national supply chain. In addition to producing 400,000 tons of caustic soda and 500,000 tons of EDC per year, this project will employ 3,000 workers during construction and 250 during operation, providing a sustainable impact on the community.

This USD 200 million joint investment from Danantara and INA provides a strong capital foundation to accelerate economic growth. Danantara Indonesia's Chief Investment Officer, Pandu Sjahrir, emphasized that this collaboration represents a concrete step in strengthening an industrial strategy that provides high added value. In line with this vision, Eddy Porwanto, Acting Chairman of the INA Board of Directors, added that this investment aims to sustainably enhance the competitiveness and resilience of the national industry. This synergy is expected to further strengthen Indonesia's position in the global market by strengthening the domestic market and expanding export opportunities.
