INDONESIA SHORT COURSE EMERGING SERIES was officially introduced as a national-level short course swimming competition that will be held on June 4–6, 2026, at the GBK Aquatic Stadium, Jakarta. The competition, organized through a collaboration between the Indonesian Aquatics Federation and the National Sports Committee of Indonesia, is part of an effort to strengthen a more structured, competitive, and sustainable development ecosystem for Indonesian swimming athletes. Carrying the theme “EMERGING,” the competition focuses on the development of young Indonesian swimmers through professional competitive experience to enhance technical skills, mental strength, and race experience from an early age.
Chairman of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia, Marciano Norman, stated that KONI supports the creation of a healthy and sustainable competition ecosystem for young Indonesian athletes through collaboration between federations, organizers, and the industrial sector. Meanwhile, Chandra Asri Group together with Barito Pacific and Barito Renewables also support the organization of the competition as part of the company’s tangible commitment to providing opportunities for young athletes to grow through professionally standardized competitions. In addition to presenting 26 competition events for four age groups with the participation of more than 700 swimmers from across Indonesia, the Indonesia Short Course Emerging Series also carries the spirit of sustainability through increased awareness of carbon footprint and material use efficiency in the implementation of the event.
