The Chandra Asri Group is currently constructing a world-class Chlor Alkali – Ethylene Dichloride (CA-EDC) Plant in Cilegon City, Banten. This facility will provide employment opportunities for 3,000 workers during the construction phase and 250 workers once operational. The Indonesian government has designated the CA-EDC Plant as a National Strategic Project (PSN), aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth. The investment in this plant is strongly backed by Chandra Asri Group’s 32-year expertise as the backbone of the national petrochemical industry, with a commitment to creating value for all stakeholders and driving economic impact for Indonesia through the company’s leadership in the industry.
Aligned with the company’s commitment as a Growth Partner, the construction of the CA-EDC Plant supports the Government’s Asta Cita objectives of job creation and downstream industrial development, while contributing to Indonesia’s target of achieving 8% economic growth. This plant will significantly reduce Indonesia’s dependence on imported Chlor Alkali by up to IDR 4.9 trillion per year, while all the EDC produced will be exported, potentially adding IDR 5 trillion annually to the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
