Community Development Program

Community Development Program conducted by CAP intended to assist communities around the operating area to improve the quality of life that includes the fields of health, education, social assistance, and the development of physical and social infrastructure.

HEALTH

Over the last eight years, CAP routinely conducts health program named “AYO KE POSYANDU”. This program is one of the success stories of CSR in raising awareness of the mothers for routine medical check-up for themselves and their toddlers to Child Care Activity Center (Posyandu). “Ayo ke Posyandu” has managed to assist 19 Posyandu with 2,300 toddlers, 2,400 household and +/- 100 pregnant women around the work site. Posyandu that assisted by the Company has upgraded its level from Posyandu in Pratama level to Purnama level which means that society has been motivated to go to Posyandu in order to improve maternal and toddler health.

CAP’s concern on public health is also be realized by CAP Medical Team visits to Posyandu spread in Cilegon and Anyer to provide counseling and open consultation forum regarding maternal and child health. In addition, CAP also invited the Posyandu cadres to attend health seminars as a form of education for public to be more aware to health conditions of themselves and their toddlers.

Health education was also performed internally by conducting seminars to provide insight to the employees on various health issues, one of which is the female reproductive health. Participants are given clear and accurate information about how to prevent and countermeasures cervical cancer, and participants are also given HPV vaccine injection services. This program is one form of internal CSR conducted.

EDUCATION

Education has long become the field that received special attention from CAP. Besides to regularly conduct CSR activities in the field of education, such as training for teacher, CAP also give appreciation of student achievements by running a scholarship program for student at various levels of education, among others:

  • President Director Scholarship. Providing scholarship to 40 children of employees with outstanding academic in Senior High School and University level.
  • Scholarship for Institute Technology of Bandung (ITB). Providing scholarship to nine outstanding students of the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics.
  • Scholarships for Untirta. The Company and Untirta signed a MoU related to collaboration in educational aid, scientific research and community development. The Company also providing scholarships to five outstanding students of Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Social and Political Science and Accounting.
  • Scholarships for D1 AMC//CMA Program. Providing scholarships to eight Senior High School students who pass the selection for D1 program of Operator Chemical Industry AMC//CMA.

CAP held social work in collaboration with Cilegon Corporate Social Responsibility (CCSR), the CSR body owned by the Government of Cilegon, by donated 30 healthy latrines for residents, 30 reading glasses to elementary students who are less fortunate, restoration of three houses that unfit for habitation, and operational tools and financial aid to three Waste Bank in Cilegon area.

CAP also regularly held free medical treatment for the community collaborated with Obor Berkat Indonesia (OBI), as a form of CAP concern to the community in the area around the operation that was allegedly cannot afford medical treatment. This social work and both health service is divided into a dental and general health treatment. On the same occasion, outpatients who need medication after the examination may redeem prescription drugs for free.

In addition, in order to infuse sense of caring to those who are less fortunate and are stricken, CAP generating aid from of all employees in the form of cash and goods worth taking to then be distributed to orphanages and natural disaster posts.

As a contribution to infrastructure development in Cilegon, CAP provide assistance to the Government of Cilegon on concreting the South Ring Road (JLS) of Cilegon along 2 KM. This concreting assistance is a follow-up act of the Government program in the repairing JLS which is a vital tool in the region economic development. This is one of the CAP’s commitments to support government programs. In addition, the CAP also participated in building the social infrastructure such as the construction of a healthy canteen at SMA 5 Cilegon
